In the digital age, more and more museum use the social media to communicate and develop the audiences. Not only to promote the museum, but also invite the visitor to participate. The visitor is no longer just the viewer or the message-receiver, the user generated content(UGC) transforms them into active participants. This research aims to discuss the impact of the UGC to the visitor, the visitor is divided as three groups (professional visitor, frequent visitor, occasional visitor) on the basis of the museum literacy and visiting frequency, all the three groups divide as preview group and post-visit group based on the time seeing the UGC.
Case study through interviews is conducted as research methods. Case is chosen as the《Anne and Ama》exhibition to demonstrate the implementation of UGC. It is found that the preview group would look for the viewing target according to the imagination by the construction of the UGC and focus on the rationality of the curatorial strategy; the UGC not only provides the post-visit group new perspective understanding the exhibition content but also arouses their interest to see again. According to the data analysis, the UGC could be a variable in the interactive experience model. In terms of the personal context, the UGC shapes the expectation for the exhibition narrative and design; the online UGC community also affect the exhibition experience in the sociocultural context; the UGC increases the understanding and the concentration of the exhibition display
