This paper presents an integrated low switching noise DC-DC converter using a discrete time second order one-bit delta-sigma modulator (DT-SDM2) to control as supply modulator for power amplifier. The context includes the description of small signal analysis and circuit design flow. This converter fabricated on standard TSMC 0.35um 3.3V CMOS process. The operating frequency is 1MHz. Using DT-SDM2 to control, compared to traditional pulse width modulator (PWM) has grate noise suppressing ability. Due to the application for power amplifier, the efficiency, bandwidth, and the problem of sitching noise for supply modulator is the most important issue to condider. The presented DT-SDM2 converter relys on the noise spread ability of controller and the high efficiency of DC-DC converter to conform to the application for the need of power amplifier.
