In the highly-developed knowledge economic era of Taiwan, the entrepreneurial activity plays a critical role in the process of economy growth and society advancement. The Guan-Xi (relationship) which Taiwan’s society concerns is fully performed between new ventures’ interaction. Through exchanges in the business networks, new ventures can achieve common vision of professional participation and resources sharing. Besides, The characteristic of entrepreneurial orientation with which they equip contributes to the excellent performance. Three factors are identified for the entrepreneurial performance of new ventures. These factors are social capital, entrepreneurial orientation, and organizational resources. The research methodology for the study makes use of questionnaire that is aimed the new ventures in the Taiwan area. The sample objective of this research is 510 new ventures that were established less than eight years.
The presence of significant results provides evidence in support of previous research and also in some of hypotheses in this study. Several findings of this study include: First, the results of the ANOVA analysis show support for the effects between social capital, entrepreneurial orientation, organizational resources and entrepreneurial performance. Secondly, the result of the Canonical correlation also show support for the relationship between social capital, entrepreneurial orientation and organizational resources. Thirdly, the regression analysis suggests that the more external firms’ ties, the relationship quality and social interaction, the more innovation, proactiveness, and autonomy, with stronger marketing and technical capabilities, the better growth performance index new ventures will have; but the social interaction and autonomy have no direct effects on profit performance index.
According to this result, we provide some suggestions to the entrepreneurs of new ventures. We suggest that new ventures can speed up information diffusion and look for the opportunities of new technology, new product, niche market development and financial supporting through expanding external business networks and maintaining trust and interdependence between network members. This will lead to promote new ventures’ autonomy, proactiveness and innovation, and to increase the correctness of risky decision-making by lower the impact of environment uncertainties, which can improve entrepreneurial performance.
