工業聚落(industrial village)空間係由工作生產與居住生活緊密互動而形成,而聚落內不同類型與數量的居住單元反映了不同階段的產業活動所衍生的居住需求,最終此種空間發展與互動模式構成了特殊的聚落空間構成現象。在空間上,工業聚落承接了工人住宅(workers' housing)的居住形式並建立空間配置的規則;產業的發展伴隨著都市的擴張,佔有廣大面積的工業聚落影響了工業城市(industrial city)的空間發展。近年來隨著產業轉型或工廠的停閉,在都市核心中釋出了大面積以生產為目的規劃,並且各項生活機能與設施完整的土地。因此,如何合理運用既有工業聚落空間,成為了工業城市下個階段的都市規劃的重要課題。然而,現階段的再發展策略多以建築物或土地為單位。若能延續過往累積的空間形塑,讓活動單元的特色得以發揮,或可使得投入修復或發展成本後,產生更大的效益。
爰此,為突破現階段工業聚落在大尺度上以機能區分空間或在小尺度上以建築風格、構造等單點特徵分析之方法。本研究嘗試透過活動分類空間單元並且以系統性之分析方法解讀工業聚落空間。研究方法首先以都市空間構成理論為基礎,分析工業聚落空間的元素、階層與網路關係。其次,以拓樸與空間型構法則從實質環境指認各類型居住單元及其構成的空間系統,並且以平均深度(Mean Depth)為描述整體與局部空間系統之量化指標。最後,輔以工業聚落之發展脈絡與空間特徵,歸納空間構成分析結果。實證範圍經清查與歸納台灣現有之工業聚落,篩選為中油宏南宏毅宿舍群。
研究發現,(1)在整體空間系統上,接近宿舍區出入口與邊界處不易建構空間認知(spatial cognition),具有活動不易產生、缺乏方向性等空間特徵;而接近宿舍之區位中心處為人們較容易辨認方向並產生活動之區域,因此宿舍區具有較強的向心性。(2)以在局部空間系統部分,雖同為中油高雄煉油廠之宿舍區,但三個區域間的局部系統卻具有顯著差異。在宏南宿舍區中以建築物局部空間系統之核心,街道為邊界;在宏毅宿舍區中則以街道為核心,臨街的建築物為邊界,形成局部系統。(3)宏南宏毅宿舍群之空間發展可分為準備期(1942-1945年)、發展期(1946-1968年)、停滯期(1969-1982年)、安定期(1982-2015年)四個階段,居住單元之空間階層與半私密性之過渡空間隨著發展階段的演進減少且類型趨向單一。從活動空間的角度檢視工業聚落空間,可以歸納出構成宿舍空間的基本單元,並且單元的組成反映了各個階段的產業活動變化,此研究成果或可做為工業聚落保存或再發展之策略與投入規模之參考。
The industrial settlement space is formed by the close interaction between work, production and residential life. In this process, this spatial development and interactive mode constitute a unique settlement space constitutes a phenomenon. In terms of space, the development of the industry is accompanied by the expansion of cities, and the large-scale industrial settlements have affected the spatial development of industrial cities. In recent years, with industrial transformation or the closure of factories, the land of industrial settlements was released. Therefore, rationally using the existing industrial settlement space has become an essential topic in the next stage of urban planning for industrial cities. However, the current redevelopment strategy is mostly based on buildings or land. Suppose the spatial shaping accumulated in the past can be continued. In that case, the characteristics of the activity unit can be brought into play, or greater benefits can be generated after the investment in repair or development costs.
This research attempts to interpret the space of industrial settlements through the classification of spatial units of activities and a systematic analysis method. This research found that (1) In terms of the overall spatial system, it is not easy to construct spatial cognition near the entrance and border of the dormitory area; and the location centre near the dormitory is an area where people can easily recognize the direction and generate activities. (2) In the part of the local space system. In the Hongnan dormitory area, the building is the core of the local system; in the Hongyi dormitory area, the street is the core of the local system. (3) The spatial development of Hongnan Hongyi's dormitory group can be divided into four stages. The transitional space between the spatial hierarchy and semi-privacy of residential units decreases with the evolution of the development stage and tends to be unitary. To sum up, the aforementioned research results may be used as a reference for the strategy and investment scale of the preservation or redevelopment of industrial settlements.
