Since 2020, the COVID-19 epidemic has ravaged the world, and its impact is quite extensive. It has especially accelerated the pace of digital transformation promoted by governments of various countries. In the post-pandemic era and the highly digitalized industrial environment, "digital entrepreneurial orientation", that is, digital entrepreneurship, will be the key solution to help companies continue to grow and establish long-term competitive advantages in this industrial environment. However, most of the current research on digital entrepreneurial orientation focuses on the relationship between it and firm performance, but seldom explores what kinds of organizational capabilities and resources should cultivate, to establish digital entrepreneurial-oriented mentality. Therefore, this study aims to design four antecedent factors, and explore how enterprises can improve and integrate their own capabilities and resources to establish a digital entrepreneurial spirit.
In addition, because the characteristics of today's digital industrial environment are highly dynamic, this study will be based on the "dynamic capability perspective" and design four antecedent factors to understand how enterprises configure and deploy these organizational resources, and stimulate digital entrepreneurship and create value. Based on above research background and research motivation, this study collected 213 valid questionnaire samples and conducted statistical analysis. The research results show that knowledge ambidexterity, resource orchestration, entrepreneurial alertness, and big data analytics capability of enterprises all have positive effects on digital entrepreneurial orientation, and will further improve firm performance. The findings of this study can also be used as a reference for business managers to develop digital entrepreneurship-oriented activities in the future.
