In order to investigate the potential of electromagnetic fields for cancer treatment, this paper focuses on the effects of time-varying ELF-EMF on lung cancer cells A549, with the addition of intermittent pauses at 7.83Hz sweep frequency intervals and a magnetic field strength of 0.82mT, and with different switching time points and multiple The experiments were conducted for 24 hours and 48 hours respectively, using a combination of 8 hours on and 16 hours off, 1 hour on and 5 hours off, and a combination of these two time points. The results of the experiment showed that the combined frequency switch, with a 7.83-pause-60Hz on the first day (on 1hr/ off 5hr) and 7.83-pause-7.83Hz on the second day (on 8hr/ off 16hr), had the greatest effect on the activity of cancer cells, with a 15% inhibition rate. Therefore, we subsequently analyzed this combination of frequencies and confirmed that the EMF used on the second day had achieved a secondary stimulatory effect. We then proposed some hypotheses that the decrease in cell activity could be due to the change in cell cycle caused by EMF, resulting in G2 phase arrest, which in turn affected cell survival.
