The NFC (Near field communication) antenna discussed in this paper is designed to use 13.56 MHz and is used mainly in smart products, such as laptops with all-metal chasses, POS machines or smart TVs. In order to make it more convenient for consumers to use these smart products, the body is light, thin and short, and it is common to integrate more functions into the product. Under these limitations, the design space of the antenna is gradually reduced and a more difficult environment must be overcome. Traditional antennas designed with PCB (Printed circuit board) can no longer meet the needs of many modern products. Therefore, in order to increase the flexibility and reduce the size of the antenna, the FPC (Flexible printed circuit) design is used, with new methods to obtain a miniaturized antenna in accordance with future trends.
This article is divided into three parts. The first part discusses the use of a miniaturized NFC antenna. It has a size of 25 mm. The winding method, line width ad line distance are the best in the card reader. These should be combined and used in practice. The second part shows that the design space given in practice is gradually reduced, so the square antenna is transformed into a more slender rectangular antenna to meet product requirements.
The last part discusses how the antenna required by the product is too small, so the planar winding method can no longer meet the design requirements. But inspired by these two journal articles [7] [8], a new stacked winding antenna is designed and successfully solves this difficult challenge.
