In the face of rapidly changing technologies, companies have lost their leadership status because they relied on past management experience and failed to understand disruptive innovation. Past research rarely explores the coexistence of old and new units from the perspective of innovation dilemmas. Therefore, this study adopts a single case study method of qualitative research, focusing on "innovation dilemma", " disruptive innovation ", "sustaining innovation", "organizational change" and "organizational ambidexterity" as the theoretical basis to explore how the case company can break through the innovation dilemma, and successfully manage new and old units. The result is that the leader set up a new business unit within the company to implement disruptive innovative products, and use innovative management model, successfully manages new and old business units.
The conclusion shows that the company adopts organizational changes to set up an independent unit to implement disruptive innovative products, uses organizational ambidexterity to balance the development of new and old units, and finally uses innovative management methods to allow new and old units to coexist, which helps to overcome the dilemma of innovation, and is expected to serve as a reference for other business leaders when facing the same dilemma.
