  • The growing use of information technology and the Internet has led to the emergence virtual communities. Why are virtual community supports willing to spend time and energy to provide valuable knowledge to others? This study extended what determines virtual community members' willingness to share knowledge.
    Virtual communities play an important role in business, society, and education. The purpose of this study was to investigate how psychological safety effect on knowledge-sharing behavior of disabled people in the virtual communities when they perceived social support. Data was collected from a convenience sample of 268 Vietnamese people with disabilities. The results show that the condition of psychological safety has a positive influence on the intention to continue sharing knowledge. The level of social support has a positive impact on knowledge sharing intention not only directly, as documented in the literature, but also indirectly, through the mediating role of psychological safety. Further, social support has positively effects on psychological safety as well. The implications of our findings and the need for future research are also discussed.
