  • 科技的進步造成了許多需求的興起,也造就了許多新行業的產生,但在此之後,伴隨而來的是同質性廠商的激烈競爭,公司為了保持成長,必須採取何種成長策略才能獲得好的績效?所以,本研究期望能以LCD產業為例,探討水平整合與垂直整合對廠商績效的影響。
    本研究經由相關文獻的收集探討,以及實際產業發展現況之整理,加上企業策略與企業績效的相關性探討,利用統計方法針對整個價值鍊環節績效進行假說檢定,以結果數據說明LCD產業獲利狀況,及未來進行企業策略方向,以期作為業界未來發展動向之參考。並於最後依據研究分析之結論,對於水平整合策略與垂直整合策略對於廠商績效關係做出說明,並且在此議題之下,對未來相關研究提出管理意涵與建議,以期對後續研究有所幫助。

    SUMMARY

    The research studies the business performance by implement horizontal integration and vertical integration strategy. Advances in technology led growth in extra demand, and many new industries expanded quickly. Accompanying is homogeneous manufacturers' intense competition. Weather strategies horizontal integration and vertical integration have positive effect on excellent performance for keeping growing up? The research hoped to understand the relationship via LCD industry.

    This research examines the effect of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) horizontal integration and vertical integration on financial performance, as indicated by Return on Assets (ROA). Pooled, cross-sectional files of financial performance data were created for Taiwan LCD industry in the period of 2002 to 2011. The research use a time-series design involving the analysis of financial performance measured over a period of ten years.

    The results of this research indicate that (1) horizontal integration strategy is positive to business performance, but not obvious. (2) business profit has significant positive relationship with backward integration, and forward integration strategy is positive to business performance. That means business must control supplier numbers to get resource concentration benefit that can improve business profit. (3) marketing and R&D investment don’t spend too much resources. Because business profit has no significant positive relationship with marketing and R&D investment..

    Base on the results of this research, Taiwan LCD industry should control the numbers of suppliers. It can add firms’ bargain power to improve business profit, because of the effect of cost down. Due to LCD industry is homogeneous manufacturers’ industry, so the results suggest not spending too much money on marketing and R&D investment. Improving Product yield is more urgent than creating new product.
