This study investigates the attitude towards transitioning from hybrid to full-time entrepreneurship, focusing on the roles of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) for planning and entrepreneurial fear of failure (EFF) in personal ability. This research addresses critical gaps in the studies by exploring the elements impacting hybrid entrepreneurs' decisions to fully immerse themselves in entrepreneurial ventures. Drawing on a sample sourced exclusively from Taiwan, the research examines how ESE for planning predicts the attitude towards shifting to full-time entrepreneurship and how the relationship is moderated through EFF in personal ability. The results demonstrate that higher ESE for planning significantly increases the attitude towards transitioning to full-time entrepreneurship. Moreover, this positive effect is moderated by EFF in personal ability, with lower EFF in personal ability amplifying the positive influence of ESE for planning on entrepreneurial transition. Academically, the study provides empirical evidence on the shift from hybrid to full-time entrepreneurship, emphasizing the critical roles of ESE for planning and EFF in personal ability. Practically, the findings offer actionable guidance for policymakers, educators, and practitioners aiming to assist hybrid entrepreneurs. By enhancing ESE for planning and addressing EFF in personal ability, targeted interventions can facilitate smoother transitions to full-time entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to economic growth and innovation.
