現今社會變遷快速，傳統聚落不論在空間上或活動上，皆面臨了巨大的衝擊，空間與活動的變化與消失，使得舊有聚落之空間氛圍亦逐漸地消失；再者由於社會背景的關係，在機能取向下亦使得生活環境逐漸失去以往的空間特色，如此情況下人們開始重視原有的空間特色以及生活品質。然而在如此回歸原有空間氣氛的追求下，容易忽略現今環境已然改變的事實，也有適切性之問題存在；因此本研究嘗試藉由聚落場所性的探討，以瞭解現今傳統聚落空間在場所氛圍上是否保有，以及其適切性之問題。

研究內容共分為四個部份：

一、文獻回顧：
此部分先藉由Norberg-Schulz的思想進路，了解場所得探討內容，並整理國內聚落相關研究論文，以了解探討之內容；並藉由相關研究論文之類型，決定本論文研究方向。

二、理論建構與探討：
以場所相關研究之探討內容，得知實質環境與感知環境對於場所氛圍形成的重要；兩者的關係也在主體與客體上，形成了場所氛圍在體驗上的多元性。因此藉由在本質的探討中，帶出主觀與客觀在實質環境與感知環境上所觸及的不同內涵，亦發現場所感的強弱，在於其所衍生的差異性上。

三、實際空間觀察：
以安平聚落為探討對象，觀察其實質空間環境、人文活動、以及整體之視覺意象的發顯；在觀察空間與活動的關係中，進而思考對於人所產生的感受性。

四、場所氛圍之檢視
以前章的觀察經驗為基礎，嘗試以外來者與本地居民兩種角色之間差異性感受的比較，檢視一種自明性的強弱--亦即場所性的有無；此外亦探討在場所氛圍存在時，其性質對於實質生活環境的適切性。

-ABSTRACT-

Everything changes constantly in modern society. The traditional settlement faces huge attack in space and activities. It makes the atmosphere of traditional settlement fading away that the space and activities are changing and disappearing. Besides, the function trend also makes the original specialty of living environment fading away due to the society background. In the situation, people start to pay much attention to original space specialty and living quality. However, in the situation of assuming original space atmosphere, it is easy to neglect the fact that the changed things nowadays also have the problem of property. Therefore, the study is trying to find out the existence and property of the space atmosphere in the traditional settlement by probing into the settlement space.

The thesis contains four parts:

1.The Bibliography Review ：
This part is to understand what contains in space theory by the thinking of Norberg - Schulz. At the same time, integrate partial study concerned settlement to find out what the thesis should probe into. Besides, decide the study trend of the thesis by some types of concerned study.

2.The Construction and Study of Theory：
The substantial environment and perceptional environment are important to inform the space atmosphere by studying concerned thesis. The relation of them bases on the subjective and the objective, and it inform the variety of experiencing the space atmosphere. Therefore, the subjective and objective in the substantial and perceptional environment have different contents by studying the essence. Besides, it can find out the spirit intensity of space based on the deriving difference.

3.The Observation of Substantial Space：
The thesis takes An-Ping settlement as studying object and to observe its substantial environment 、cultural activities and the integral environment image. The next step is to think what people feel in the relation of observing space and activity.

4.The survey of Space Atmosphere：
Based on the observing experience of the last chapter, try to compare the different feeling between the locals and the strangers. At the same time, try to survey the intensity of identity － the existence of space spirit. Besides, try to discuss whether the space atmosphere is proper to the substantial life when it exist.
