模具工程向來都被稱做工業之母,因模具產業為一技術、資本密集且具附加價值的特殊產業,因它是各類最終成品量產的重要工具,在人類的日常生活中的所需用品幾乎與模具脫離不了關係。發展模具產業,不僅提高工業產品的精度,也普及消費性產品的使用性,加速整體製造業的升級,為製造業不可或缺的基礎工業之一。在現今多樣少量的產品型態,模具開發流程更具挑戰性,如何透過同步與標準化來縮短開模時間,速度已成為競爭力的優勢之一。
本研究是以塑膠模具同步開發為研究對象。個案Z公司的產品為開關、連接器、扣具和螺絲,為一傳統製造業,都需要模具開發來做成形品組裝動作,所以模具為一必備的生產工具。因模具開發流程主要牽扯到產品設計、模具設計和射出成形三大領域,且模具製造過程繁雜,傳統的模具開發流程費時,常常無法達到客戶的期望,交期無法掌握。全世界百分之90的開關由個案Z公司美國總公司提供,部份產品在台灣開模,一個開關往往需要不同的零件搭配,為了滿足交期需求,如何去改變模具開發流程,提供總公司專業的製造能力和服務,為當務之急。
目前個案Z公司並無任何機制來改善模具開發流程。大多透過供應商的手法,而本身只做轉手的動作,只要供應商出了問題,往往都會造成交期延誤。本研究針對在模具設計研發階段時,如何運用DCOR設計鏈來更新模具開發流程,並導入知識管理,建立模具開發文件中心,及利用資訊科技支持知識傳遞、擴散和分享。使該個案公司模具同步開發改善建立多項新穎作法,產生競爭優勢的成果。
Mold engineering is always called the mother of the industry as it is the special capital-intensive with technology and value-added. It is an important tool to lead various products to mass production. It is so close to the necessaries of the human life that we nearly can not break its relations. The mold development industry is not only to enhance the precision of industrial products but also to increase the utility rate of consumer goods. It is an essential basic industry to upgrade the whole manufacture. Since the high mix/low volume production styles are quite popular and the mold development will be particularly full of challenge. How to shorten the process time by using the standardization and concurrent approaches are very importance. Especially the delivery speed is becoming one of the competitive factors.
This research is based on the concurrent mold development. Company Z was selected as the case study with producing many kinds of switches、connectors、fasteners and screws. All products are required to mold them for final fabrication. Many molds are the necessary tool for production. The mold development contains three main processes including products design、mold design and form injection molding. The mold manufacturing process is quite complexity and waste time with traditional method. Therefore, the delivery of goods is hard to meet and satisfy the requirement of the customers. However, owing to the quick and mass production in case study company Z, it has gained 90% market share in overall the world from its head company (in USA). Some of the mold products are supported and made in Taiwan. How to improve the mold development, ship to the customers on time, provide the specialty and service to head company are very essential.
Presently, company Z has not obtained any systems to improve the mold development. It depends mostly on the suggestion of the suppliers. Thus, it is easy to delay the delivery schedule when something happened from the suppliers. In the study, we proposed the Design Chain Operations Reference-model (DCOR) to update the mold development process during the designing step. A mold documents center has been built to support the knowledge transferring, diffusing and sharing by information technology. Some new techniques have been achieved for the concurrent mold development and acquired more consequence of the competition advantages.
