From the industrial information, we can understand that the local manufacturers who want to subsist in Taiwan must adjust oneself from labor-intensive business to knowledge-intensive one. Just with that way, the companies can greatly transcend the competitors in the sunrise nations and keep establishing his own niche. The central concept of the so-called knowledge-intensive is innovation. So the thesis will research the existence of the relationship among the variation of technology environment, competitive strategy of the companies and the innovation performance. By understanding these relationships, we can predict that the companies will have different innovation performance under the different strategies and the different technology environment.
The whole research objects are the traditional chemical industry and the hi-tech industry. According to the data from the questionnaire, first, use the Factor Analysis and Reliability Analysis to find out the independent variables, then use these factors to examine the relationship by MANOVA, Canonical Correlation, Cluster Analysis. From this procedure, we try to see whether the highly variable environment make the competitive strategy become high. And then, it will lead the innovation strategy to slant to products. Further, the product performance will be good. On the other hand, when the technology environment is not variable, the competitive strategy of companies will slant to low competitive model. This will make companies emphasize the manufacture, and further, increase the manufacture performances.
The result from using the statistic analysis have already proved that the managers of companies stress different innovation strategies in light of the different competitive strategies and the different technology environments. And these influence the different performances.
