碳排放減量，是近代人類社會中相當重要的共同議題， 隨著多項國際公約問世，其也開始和國家信用產生關聯。然而， 在所有前人所撰文獻當中，卻並未發現有關於兩者關係之研究，故以此作為主題。 本論文透過2008至2018年間，全球68個國家之六百餘筆年度資料，建立多元迴歸模型，試圖檢驗其國家信用與碳排放量間是否存在特定關係。實證結果發現，不論以｢主權信用評級」或是｢國家主權債信用違約交換之價格」， 作為國家信用的衡量指標， 皆呈現當國家信用越優良， 其碳排放量越低。再者， 本文進一步將樣本國家依地緣分為五個地區， 以檢測不同地區間國家信用和碳排放量間是否存在差異。 結果顯示， 歐洲地區國家在信用 越優良時，碳排放量減少程度將皆較其他四個地區高， 而大洋洲地區國家在信用 越好時，碳排放量則會較其他四個地區而言不減反升。最後， 由於可行性較高之巴黎協定近年才出現，故將樣本以2016年作為分界點， 檢定2008至2015年&2016至2018年兩個區段間，國家信用及碳排放量間之關係是否出現變化。最終發現2016至2018年間國家信用越優良時，碳排放量減少程度將較2008至2015年間來得高。

Carbon emission reduction has been a crucial issue in recent years, people always want to find a solution to this problem. Along with several international treaties adopted, carbon emission generate connection with sovereign credit in some degree. However, among the search of previous literature, no one has linked carbon emission and sovereign credit yet. Therefore, this paper tries to examine the relationship between sovereign credit and carbon emission. This study collected 68 country’s year data from 2008 to 2018, and built a multiple regression model to execute testing. Furthermore, this research uses two proxy to represent
sovereign credit, sovereign credit rating and premium of sovereign credit default swap. Empirical result demonstrates that a superior credit level will lower carbon emission in some degree. In addition, this research also divided the sample into five groups depending on geographical area. Empirical result illustrates that better credibility will enhance carbon emission reduction in Europe than others. While better credibility will not enhance carbon emission reduction in Oceania different from others. Finally, this research divided the sample into two groups depending on the time period. Empirical results show that better credibility will enhance carbon emission reduction after 2016 than previous years.
