In this thesis, a bidirectional DC-DC converter with high conversion ratio is designed and implemented. It can achieve high voltage conversion ratio by tapped-inductor and bidirectional power conversion. Therefore, it’s suitable for bidirectional energy transfer between DC bus and battery with high voltage conversion ratio. The analysis of operating principle is discussed at first. Then, steady-state electrical characteristics and parameter design in both step-down mode and step-up mode are analyzed. Finally, a laboratory prototype with high side voltage of 400 V, low side voltage of 24 V and rated power of 240 W is implemented to validate the theoretical analysis. As the experimental results shown, the maximum efficiency of the system is 91.3% at 60% load in step-down mode and 90.6% at 60% load in step-up mode.
