電力是民生必需品，然而就目前科技而言電力卻無法像油和水一樣可以有效地大量儲存，因此，為獲有可靠及穩定之電力供應，唯有仰賴發電廠發電機組之正常運作和品質良好的大修工程。然而發電廠機組之大修工程必須經由妥適的專案排程管理，亦即在專案之規劃、管控及預算下，使專案的工期、成本及品質皆符合專案規範之要求，而這些過程皆必須依靠健全之專案管理知識與經驗，方能逐一實現，達成目標。
雖然專案隨處可見，但是要完善地落實專案管理，卻不是一件容易之事。本研究藉由專案排程管理之程序，以電廠發電機組大修專案排程管理運用電腦軟體-PROJECT 2000之實作，來探討專案管理之理論與實務之結合，並從中體會專案排程管理系統電腦化之實用性與重要性，希望透過本研究之論證能提供電廠大修專案排程管理電腦化在推動工作上其程序有一依循方向可以參考，進而對整體電力之穩定發展有所助益。

The electric power is an essential necessity for the human livelihood. So far as to the present science and technology, it is actually hard to makes mass storage for electric power effectively as the storing energy of oil and water. Therefore, in order to obtain the reliable and stable electric power supply, it is the only way to let the power plant generator unit with normal operation and high quality of general overhaul as well as maintenance. However, the general overhaul for a power plant generator unit must apply the suitable project schedule management with planning, controlling and budgeting. Thus, it can meet the project standard requirement for schedule, cost and quality. All of these processes must depend upon the robust project management knowledge and the experience to implement each activity gradually and achieve the major goal.
Although projects can be found everywhere, but it is not easy to carry out a perfect project control management. The selected case has been studied and implemented by the project scheduling management procedure with computer software – PROJECT 2000. It is a good case study for combing the theory and practice of project management. From the research, we realize that the computerized operation for project scheduling management is quite practical and important. The computer control project model can be considered as an excellent paradigm for general project management, especially for the power plant general overhaul project. It is helpful to develop an overall electric power service with stability and reliability.
