歐洲18世紀Marc-Antoine Laugier (1713-1769)以「原始棚架」(The Primitive Hut)做為建築的起源。本研究再次演繹此命題。重點不在歷史解釋，而是「棚架」的另一種創作可能，乃致於可能產生另一種歷史路徑。

基本上即是以棚架陰影之線條現象作為圍塑空間之發想。

論文內容有三：
一、重想棚架：將物質性的線條與非物質性(如陰影)的線條轉化為創作素材
二、塑形方法：在設定範圍內將線條逐次以數列改變轉角，線條交錯後形成交錯折線，再翻摺後成形。
三、設計運用：以成功大學理學大樓為對象，從單元分析、區帶分析收斂尺寸、量體模擬決定形式後再將其形運用本研究之塑形方法，挑選線條或為結構或為皮層，產生新的空間形式。

During the 18 th century in Europe Marc-Antoine Laugier (1713-1769) took The Primitive Hut as a prototype to rethink “What is the Origin in the western architecture”. This study try to make another Deduction of Origin in architecture . When redevelop the possibility of the “Origin”, might create another path of architecture history. In other words this study uses the liner phenomenon of hut its own shadow as a very first thought of making space.

The thesis is divided into three sections .Section 1 is to analysis lines in both physical material and non- physical material for example: shadow. Section 2 Outline the rule of the bouncing line . Section 3 devoted to the understanding of the characteristics and limits of the line construction by simulating three building cases
