In this study, social exchange theory is used to hypothesize processes linking transformational leadership to follower performance outcomes. In more detail, we are going to investigate the mechanism from transformational leadership (TFL) toward task performance (TP) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB)–two important categories of job performance–through person-organization fit (POF). Moreover, we indicate leader-member exchange (LMX) into this study to test for its moderating effect between independent variable and dependent variables. The dyadic data were collected from multiple sources, comprise 62 leaders and 186 immediate followers from voluntary organizations in 12 biggest universities in Hanoi Vietnam. Using hierarchical multilevel analyses, we found that TFL is positively related to TP and OCB. Likewise, we found that POF statistically significant mediating the relationship between TFL and TP; TFL and OCB. Last but not least, LMX moderates the positive effect of TFL on OCB.
