隨著數位時代來臨,無論是空間中的感測裝置還是個人攜帶的隨身裝置,人類運用科技所帶來的便利,逐漸改變了我們的生活模式。當下所面臨的挑戰是創造科技與人性並重的生活環境,建立整合數位媒體、感測晶片、並可永續發展的智慧型網路城市。
本研究試圖提出一個整合感測晶片、數位網路與實體空間的資訊驛站(Information Portal)概念,透過實際感測組件的設計與實驗,探討普及運算在未來建築空間與智慧網路城市的應用。資訊驛站乃是一種都市層級的公共資訊裝置,提供數位科技與網路服務,可在不同的環境涵構中,依基地條件調整組件的多寡或內容,整合不同的互動式媒體科技,作為都市環境中實體空間與虛擬空間的媒介。
本研究分為五個部分,第一部份從互動方式探討目前感測器科技的類型,第二部份是將建築空間組件化後,分析各單元組件間的應用與發展可能。第三部份分析資訊驛站的設計規範,從現今的互動式媒體空間應用,提出資訊驛站的控制條件與設計原則。第四部份為實際應用,將之前的分析與整理操作並實際操作一建築物入口空間,作為資訊驛站的實際演練,最後提出資訊驛站的未來發展與建議。
With the sensor system in a space and personal portable devices, people use these technologies with more convenience and change our everyday life in the digital age. The challenge what we confront with is creating the human and technical living environment and making the smart networked city which is integrated with digital media and sensor chips and developing sustainable.
This paper introduces a concept of “Information Portal” which is integrated with sensors, digital network and physical space. We make a practical construction by augmenting and composing these components with chips embedded in, and investigate the ubiquitous computing in future architecture space and smart networked city. The Information Portal system is a set of urban-level public equipments that provides digital technology and network services, and can be changed these components with different environment contexts. The system integrating different interactive media technologies becomes the interface of physical and digital spaces in urban environment.
Our work falls into five phases. First, we investigate the sensor technology and develop varied interaction modes. Secondly, we decompose the designed architecture space into different physical elements, such as floor, ceiling, wall, opening and furniture. Thirdly, we study the design criteria of information portal, the outdoor control requirements, and design principle of sensor-based interactive behavior. We analyze adoptability, extensibility and connectivity of the modular components with chips embedded in. Finally, we make a practical construction of an information portal space by augmenting and composing these components together. We combine the computer-augmented architectural components and evaluate the usability, and apply the network of information portals in urban scale.
