本研究試圖探討食品業者對於落實企業社會責任是否在發生食安事件時具有保險效益,足以緩解對公司本身的負面衝擊。本研究以2016至2018年間的食安事件作為主要樣本,研究對象則為「台灣經濟新報資料庫(TEJ)」之食品相關上市、上櫃業者,實證結果當發生食安事件時,食品相關業縱使非主要事件主角仍會受到負面波及,但越積極落實企業社會責任之企業所受到影響幅度越小,顯示食安事件宣告與積極落實企業社會責任具有顯著的負相關,證實企業社會責任為食品業公司在面臨負向事件衝擊時,具有保險的效果。橫斷面測試發現小型企業落實企業社會責任在發生負面事件時,提供類似保險的效益會更為明顯。此外,本研究結果不受到事件窗期設定的影響,堪稱穩健。
This study attempts to study whether the implementation of CSR in food companies can play an insurance benefit in the event of food safety incidents and alleviate the negative impact of the company. This study uses food safety incidents from 2016 to 2018 as a sample, and the research objects are food listed and OTC companies in TEJ. I find that when food safety incidents occur, food companies will be negatively affected even though they are not the main protagonist of the incident. The more actively implementing CSR, the smaller the impact. This shows that food safety incidents have a significant negative correlation with actively implementing CSR, confirming that CSR has insurance Effect. A cross-sectional test find that small businesses would benefit from providing similar insurance in the event of a negative event in the implementation of CSR. In addition, the results of this study are not affected by alternative event windows, which can be regarded as robust.
