Health care issues become a main problem in our country. Moreover, with the advance of technology, health information is more and more available. Traditionally, patients only passively receive information provided by institutions, now have changed to actively searching, health literacy, and value co-creation activities through resource integration, to improve quality of life, and achieve the value co-creation in health care.
This research was proposed to study the relationship between health literacy, value co-creation activities, positive emotion and quality of life in health care patients by the method of questionnaire. The number of valid samples were 306. This evidence-based study showed there were positive effects on health literacy and value co-creation activities, positive emotions and value co-creation activities, value co-creation activities and quality of life. Positive emotions have no moderating effect on value co-creation activities and quality of life. Value co-creation activities have partial mediation effect on health literacy and quality of life.
Health care institutions can improve the quality of life of patients and achieve value co-creation by cultivating patients' health literacy, improving resource integration abilities and value co-creation activities. Finally, based on the results, this study provided management practice and future research suggestions for researchers and managers. We expected that this study can provide managerial strategies to managers of health authorities, medical institutions, and health care institutions, to achieve the goal of value co-creation development of Taiwan’s health care industry.
