In recent years, with the aging of the population, the increase of the elderly population has brought a greater burden to medical units. Therefore, how to reduce the incidence of hospitalization accidents through medical assistive technology will become an important issue of concern to hospitals. Elderly people pose the greatest threat. Not only are there immediate dangers, but the sequelae left behind will increase the burden of caregivers and health care. In order to reduce the second-degree injury caused by falls, hospitals or nursing homes often use bed-out alarms to actively notify the nurse or nursing staff to assist when the patient gets out of bed. However, the false alarms of related products on the market are too frequent and the contact design is It is also easy to cause bedsores in patients who have been bedridden for a long time, which not only makes caregivers exhausted, but also delays critical rescue opportunities in hospitals where every second counts.
Based on the above issues, our team and the Electrical Engineering Department of Cheng Kung University have developed a new out-of-bed alarm system with both non-contact and low false alarm rates. According to the clinical nursing experience of nurses, multiple sensors such as infrared, ultrasonic and three-axis accelerometer are installed on the most frequent route of getting out of bed to monitor whether the patient is getting out of bed. The detection result will be displayed in nursing care immediately. Station computer interface and APP in the hands of nursing staff. When the patient leaves the bed, in addition to receiving an alarm at the nursing station to remind the nurses to come to support as soon as possible, an alarm will also be issued at the bedside to remind the patient to stay where they are waiting for assistance. This thesis designs and implements the shell structure and system interface of this new type of bed exit alarm system, and iteratively revises it.
