本研究目的在探討建築設計基礎課程的教育面相,即使教學者與學習者因為所處時代的差異,產生不同的思考習慣,在使用工具與媒材的變革之下,教學者與學習者之間的關係會出現何種變化,而教學者在整個設計教學的教學場域中扮演什麼樣的角色,與如何因應學習者學習習慣的改變調整教學的情境設計,以及探討建築設計初始教育的核心價值與專業素養。
本研究以文獻分析法、詮釋社會科學研究法、田野調查法與文件分析等方式,觀察一零六學年度下學期到一零八學年度的設計相關課程教學現場,除擔任設計相關課程的助教,並觀課約兩年的時間,發現在不同的工具與媒材下,整個教學系統的樣態也產生變化,但即使如此,教學的目的仍緊扣大學一年級設計教育的核心價值,在研究中分為兩種形式來討論。
首先是以著重於建築教育需要培養的學習能力與核心價值來討論,包含技術層面、認知層面、科技層面等,由於建築學並非單一專業科目,需融合不同面向的領域操作,統合思維的養成就顯得極為重要,而學生對於未來有一定的想像也是必需的,但啟發對未來的想法與概念需仰賴教學者引導。
另一種是以教學現場的情況討論,採用兩學年的觀察紀錄來分析整體課程的脈絡,並將課程題目歸納為不同題型,針對不同的學習情境,採用不同工具、不同教學目標導向的引導下,學生在各項題目操作之下的學習成效,以及在全數位下的教學操作與過去的學習方式產生的效應,包含最後呈現方式的調整與遇到的困境,並以學生的學習表現歸納出學生的特質型態與協助的方式。
本研究發現教學者可以依照一年級的教學目標擬定有步驟性的的教學課程;由於當代的學習者生活的環境與思維模式改變,教學者可以用更開放的心態來面對數位對學習典範的轉移,對於學習者而言,進入建築學習的目的不在於單純接受一種大學教育,而是能夠理解建築專業對於自我價值的建立與要求,而在數位媒材的輔助之下,能透過建築系獨有的課程文化來建立專業上的學習習慣。
SUMMARY
This study aims to explore the various educational aspects of basic courses of architectural design, including the different conceptual thinking between professors and learners from different generations, how the relationship between professors and learners will change under the revolution of the use of tools and media, what role professors play in the entire field of design teaching, how to adjust the context of teaching design in response to the change of learners’ study habits, and the core value and professionalism of the initial education of architectural design.

INTRODUCTION
The initial curriculum of architectural design is an enlightenment course for freshmen who have just entered the Department of Architecture. The core value of this course lies in how the professor shapes the students' imagination of architecture, introduces the core qualities of architectural design thinking, and fosters the development of good study habits. Thus, the arrangement of the overall course and the selection of tools and media to be used deeply influence the direction of the course. Since the resources that contemporary students have are different from those in the past, under diverse learning contexts, what shall be developed and responded between teachers and learners, and what kind of thinking these arranged courses can shape students, are also the contents that this research intends to explore.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
This research explored the design-related courses for the freshman year of the architecture department in the university. The focus ranged from students to professors, including classroom instruction mode and the use of teaching media, as well as a supplementary compulsory course.
1. Research subjects: including students of the second semester of the 2017 academic year to the first semester of the 2019 academic year of freshman year students in the Department of Architecture of National Cheng Kung University, along with the professors who taught design courses in these three terms, including full-time and part-time professors and a small number of industry teachers. Apart from a fixed group of professors, this study also communicated with postgraduate teaching assistants of different grades. In addition, non-school lecturers were also invited at least twice each semester, including full-time professors from different schools and architects in the industry, to provide their design suggestions and opinions.
2. Research environment: the two studios and the surrounding environment for the freshman year architecture of NCKU includes a large balcony outside the studio and open spaces in the College of Planning and Design, such as the ecological pool, the square in the atrium, and the Cheng Kung lake on the campus. Outside the campus, there are environmental observations of the coastal community in Beimen District, Tainan City, as well as the works of famous architects exhibited in different counties and cities to visit.
3. Research methods: This study adopted literature analysis methods, interpretative social science research methods, field survey methods and document analysis with researchers as participating observers. Although not actively participating in group activities and interactions, all students knew that I was also one of the observers.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
This research is divided into the following two parts for discussion in accordance with the connotation of the initial education of architectural design and the qualitative observation and analysis of the curriculum:
First, it focused on the learning abilities and core values that need to be cultivated in architectural education, including technical, cognitive, and technological aspects. Because architecture is not a single professional subject, it is extremely important to integrate different aspects of field operations and the cultivation of thinking. Additionally, it is also necessary for students to have a certain imagination for the future, despite that the inspiration of ideas and concepts for the future heavily depends on the guidance of their professors.
The second part was to discuss the situation at the instruction site, using the observation records of the two academic years to analyze the context of the overall curriculum, and summarize the curriculum topics into different question types. Targeting different learning situations and using different tools and different teaching goal-oriented guidance, the learning effects on students under the presentation of various topics, as well as the effects of teaching methods under the full digital position and past learning methods, including the adjustment of the final presentation method and the difficulties encountered, the students' traits, and ways of assistance were summarized by their learning performance.
CONCLUSION
This study discovered that professors could formulate a step-by-step teaching curriculum based on the teaching goals for the freshman year, and put forward the following three points:
1. The development of professors for the basic courses of architectural design is not without clues to follow, and can assist the development of the curriculum based on the theory of pedagogy and experience.
2. The relationships between the professors and learners and the learning situations that could be created when facing the generational differences.
3. How to respond to the initial course of architectural design after it becomes fully digitalized
Due to the changes in the living environment and thinking mode of contemporary learners, professors shall use a more open mind to face the shift of digital learning paradigm. For learners, the purpose of entering architecture study is not simply to receive a university education, but to understand the establishment and requirements of the architecture major for self-worth and, with the assistance of digital media, to learn professional study habits through the unique curriculum culture.
