全球化的發展下，東南亞的經濟市場成為大國必爭之樞紐地帶，不論在地理上的優勢或是藉著發展中國家的經濟快速增長與地理位置的特性，讓中國、美國、日本或是韓國等已開發國家都加注於對該地區進行貿易與投資，讓該地區經濟快速增長。更在1976年成立了ASEAN；又於1992年在ADB的倡導下推動了GMS次區域經濟合作計畫，且東協預計在2025年達到經濟、政治與社會文化一體化之目標。而泰國身為亞洲的臍帶、東協的心臟更是本研究對於東協一體化的經濟發展下的重要主體。本研究將整體推論分為三元（國內:邊疆經濟發展、次區域：邊境經濟整合、國際：經濟整合圈的擴張）三層（地緣發展、區域整合、建構經濟圈）的研究方式，將國內層面的發展，由泰國政府的推動之下從經濟發展核心的曼谷地區轉移至泰國北部、東北部地帶作為發展重點，一方面可以均衡發展；另一方面則可以透過地緣上的優勢與鄰邊國家進行區域經濟整合。從泰國的邊境地區發展出經濟市場的合作與經濟特區的建設便利了與鄰邊國家往來的貿易。基於前面兩層發展的積累下，讓泰國與鄰邊國家形成了三大菱形經濟圈，泰國可藉由跨境經濟整合圈的擴張以「泰銖經濟圈」、「佛教經濟圈」加速東協一體化，並鞏固泰國在東協、亞洲地區發展上的重要性。

With the development of globalization, interregional cooperation is becoming increasingly important, and there is no exception with regards to the region of South-East Asia. ASEAN has been active in the international market from the time when it was founded in 1976. As the heart of the association, Thailand is the main objective of this study. The study investigates Thailand’s development policy and its promotion, and analyzes how Thailand contributes to the acceleration of ASEAN’s internal economy, politics, culture and other progressive integration of the cooperation. The literature collected and implementation of policies will be aggregated and inferred in this study, through the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). It will take the form of ternary (domestic: border economic development, sub-region: border economic integration, international: economic integration rim expansion) and three layers of cooperation (geography development, regional integration, construction of economic rim).
