The concept of supply chain management (SCM) is a mean of simultaneously meeting the company’s customer service objectives while minimizing inventory throughout the supply chain. For the firms in Taiwan, because of the changing of the industrial environment and the global competition, firms ought to pay more attention about increasing their competitiveness. Moreover, for many industries in the developing countries, after OEM and ODM, global logistics management has become a new model for production and marketing so that supply chain management will also become an important issue for firms in Taiwan.
The main purpose of this study focuses on how to increase the degree of SCM commitment and integration of SCM business process to increase the whole SCM performance. There are totally 600 pieces of questionnaires issued in this study, and the study was proceeded by data analysis containing 134 pieces of valid questionnaires retrieved, with the following results:
1.The level of idiosyncratic investments to supply chain partners, the degree of dependence between supply chain partners, and the level of product salability of supply chain partners would affect the continuance commitment, affective commitment, and normative commitment of supply chain partners. Furthermore, higher degree of the above of supply chain management would result in higher integration of SCM business process, and higher SCM performance.
2.The degree of trust, power, continuity, and communication between supply chain partners would affect the continuance commitment, affective commitment, and normative commitment of supply chain partners. Furthermore, higher degree of the above of supply chain management would result in higher integration of SCM business process, and higher SCM performance.
3.The level of the affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment of supply chain partners would be helpful to the integration of SCM business process, and SCM performance.
4.Among 3 areas of observations, China seems to get higher scores on dependence of supply chain partners, idiosyncratic investment from supply chain partners, power, continuity, communication, continuance commitment, normative commitment of supply chain partners, and integration of customer relationship management.
