本研究運用空間自我相關方法之理論及技術，並配合地理資訊系統之輔助分析功能，嘗試整合發展出一套較適合區域所得空間分佈研究之研究方法。本研究以台灣地區及北部區域作為實證對象，採用1983至2003年間所得分佈之資料進行空間變化及特性的實證分析，以供未來研擬相關政策之參考依據。實證結果顯示出：第一、區域所得分佈呈現南北兩極化之現象。；第二、台灣地區東部與西部區域所得空間結構明顯不同。

　　此外，本文亦透過北部地區的地方財政因素與地方平均所得的交叉分析，以探討中央資源之分配是否合乎空間公平性，實證結果發現上級政府對於發展較落後之地區投入較大量之資本以均衡區域發展，然而北部地區部分縣市中央補助款偏高之情形則呈現財政補助不公平之現象。

　　This study attempted to develop a better approach for spatio-temporal analysis of regional income distribution by putting theory of spatial autocorrelation and GIS analysis functions together. We take Taiwan and North region of Taiwan as examples, by adopting the data of spatial variation and characteristics of income distribution to move on the empirical analysis during 1983-2003 years. The empirical study shows：First, the regional income distribution reveals deep gaps between North and South region of Taiwan. Second, the regional income construction reveals deep differences between East and West region of Taiwan.

　　Besides, this study also analyzed whether the distribution of the resources by the authorities is equal by analyzing the financial factors and income of the regions. We found that the authorities put more investments to the undeveloped regions for the goal of regional development equilibrium. However, it also reveals the unequal phenomenon of the distribution of the subsidies by the authorities in North region of Taiwan.
