This research is based on a case study exploring the relationship between the research objective and its suppliers, and then followed questions such as, ” how should the relationship is managed in a company with the substances of the state-owned enterprises?”, “what factors may influence the practice of the supplier relationship management?”, “what effects may bring out from the improved supplier relationship management?”, and so on.
By drawing on the literatures as the theoretical lens, the essential traits as well as the potential impacts may occur on the whole supply-chain are obtained and supported. The research’s investigation is to recognize the current supplier relationship management as well as the necessity to manage.
The research methodology is qualitative research and empirical data is collected by having the in-depth interviews with twenty people, including the senior managers, procurement personnel, and the suppliers.
The results from the in-depth interviews could be divided into two parts which are consistent part and gaps part. The research finds out the gaps are relatively minor and but the importance of supplier relationship management is obvious. With the intention to achieve a more complete, thoughtful, and effective supplier relationship management, the research develops a feasible SRM model to serve the organization for better supplier relationship management.
In the last chapter, the research concludes by reviewing the analysis of the content obtained from the interviews and describing the importance to insert the SRM into the business plans. In the last section of this research, the further research suggestions are also illustrated.
