Stress can lead to physical illnesses, psychological disorders, poor work efficiency, regression of relationships, general resilience and weakened immune systems (Powell, 1983/1996). It can be seen that when individuals are under stress, they have invisibly caused a certain degree of threat to human physical and mental health, affecting the operation of individuals' physical, psychological, emotional and daily life. At present, the products on the market mainly focus on meditation and aromatherapy, and there is relatively little scientific verification. For physiological feedback devices, there should be more room for industrial design.
This study adopts the international emotional picture system method; uses the Self-Assessment Manikin to measure the emotional response of the subject, and re-establishes the relevant research process according to past scholars' research (Choi et al., 2017); the correlation between the emotional responses from the test objects (6) under 15 different emotion pictures (1931, 6350, 3170, 3000, 9410, 7175, 7000, 7187, 2190, 2440, 8185, 8179, 8030, 4800, 5800) and the Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index (RRI, HR, SDNN, RMSSD, NN50, TP, LF, HF, LF/HF). Then, through the two-factor mixed design ANOVA analysis, the effect of pictures and color temperatures on heart rate variability is analyzed, and find out the new usability and possibility of the physiological feedback device.
In the Self-Assessment Manikin, the result of this experiment reached a significant level of RRI and HR in the 9 Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index in terms of arousal. RRI is the basis of ECG parameter analysis, and derived the time domain to analyze the physiological index HR, so the subsequent tests are based on the heart rate (HR) in the Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index.
In the two-factor mixed design ANOVA analysis, we are aware that the interaction between the image and color temperature under the Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index (HR), the main effect of the picture and the color temperature to the Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index heart rate (HR). In terms of pictures, the Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index (HR) has different trends in 15 different picture situations. In terms of color temperature, the Empirical Group 4000K color temperature is significantly different from the other groups (0K, 3000K, 6500K) in the average value of Heart Rate Variability Physiologic Index heart rate (HR); the average value made by Empirical Group 4000K is higher, which may represent appropriate color temperature has less impact on the Heart Rate Variability under different scenario and is better to human health.
