自駕城市主義是對於自駕車興起後的一種新型態城市設計理念，探討因自駕車而引發新的「價値的創造」：當自駕車釋放了我們雙手，同時也釋放了空間與時間。

一座城市的紋理是由交通系統演變而來的，從過去馬車蜿蜒路徑形成的前工業城市到現代車道串聯而成的建築與道路設計，土地的使用方式依循人們的移動模式而有所改變。自汽車誕生至今一個多世紀以來，人們對於汽車的依賴，連帶也影響都市基礎建設的規劃。我們日常可見的道路多是以汽車導向為主，因此人們能夠安全活動的範圍被大幅度的限縮了，而汽車經濟帶來的影響如交通堵塞、過多閒置的私家車、能源消耗與碳排放量等，在自駕車誕生之後，我們似乎看見了新的曙光，當人們不再需要駕駛汽車時，自駕車成為一種能與多方連結的「移動載體」，其改變的不僅是人們的生活作息和交通模式，還會影響都市規劃與建築環境的設計思維。

當汽車這個概念已逐漸從強調實用性的交通工具變成結合人們日常生活的智慧移動載體，我們對於城市設計的想法將回歸以人為本的城市空間設計。如果說建築是能夠裝載人與事件的固定載體，自駕車則是能夠靈活變化的移動載體，若一同構思其在空間中相互連結的可能性，則能打破實體空間的限制，形成涵蓋群體與時間向度的新形態空間，透過自駕車的互聯性將事件發生的觸及範圍擴大到街道與城市。

自駕車發展是未來的趨勢，如今國際上多是討論自駕車本身技術的突破與基礎設施的環境建置，少有建築人提出未來城市的願景想像。因此本研究統整自駕車未來發展的案例資料，分析因自駕車而產生的空間情境，歸納自駕車對都市規劃及建築空間發展所帶來之影響，導入自駕城市主義，打開未來無限想像。

Trans-city is a new type of urban design concept after the rise of automonous vehicle. It explores the interaction among people, vehicles, buildings and cities. The emergence of automonous vehicle will trigger a new "creation of value": when automonous vehicles free our hands, they also free up space and time.
Observing the past and present urban changes in history, we can find that the shaping of urban texture is closely related to the transportation system used by residents at that time. In terms of infrastructure, there are roads due to the appearance of automobiles, land bridges due to the needs of shipping, and airports due to the invention of airplanes. In terms of urban form, transportation is an important part of urban operation. The direction of urban development varies based on residents' attitudes towards the land.
When the concept of cars has gradually changed from a practical means of transportation to a smart object that integrates people's daily life, our ideas on urban design can be more "humanity-oriented". Buildings are fixed vehicles that can carry people and events, so automonous cars are mobile vehicles that can change flexibly. If we conceive together the possibility of their interconnection in space, we can break the limitation of physical space. A new form space covering the dimensions of group and time will be born. Through the interconnection of automonous vehicles, the scope of the event occurrence is expanded to streets and cities.
