古機械的復原研究,是以現有的史料為基礎,利用系統化的方法,在不違背當代已知科學原理與工藝技術的條件下,重新產出多樣性的復原成果。本研究的目的,在於系統化的進行指南車的復原設計。指南車可依其構造與功能分為定軸輪系指南車與差動輪系指南車兩大類。本研究透過對近代所復原的指南車機構進行拓樸構造分析,將指南車機構分解為輸入桿、傳遞裝置、負回饋機構、以及輸出桿四個部分,並歸納出拓樸構造特性、設計規格、以及設計需求與限制。
本研究提出新的接頭與桿件的表示方法,並發展一套合成指南車機構構形的設計方法。由設計規格的訂定,透過數目合成得到可行一般化鏈圖譜,經特殊化程序得到可行特殊化鏈圖譜,再分配接頭軸向與桿件特性,及選用輸入輸出桿件與傳遞裝置後得到具指定特徵之可行特殊化鏈圖譜,最後經由具體化步驟,有系統地得到所有可行設計圖譜,並以設計實例驗證之。結果,得到10種新型定軸輪系指南車的復原設計,以及16種新型差動輪系指南車的復原設計。這些設計可適用於歷代指南車的機構,對其復原研究有所助益。本研究並以SolidWorks軟體建構電腦實體模型,且製作出原型機驗證之。
在科普教育推廣上,本研究內容與指南車相關資料已製作成中英對照之網頁,讓指南車的歷史與原理能更深入社會大眾。
The reconstruction design of ancient machinery is to reconstruct various designs based on the existing literature and without violating the known scientific principles and technique skills in subject time period.
The purpose of this study is to reconstruct South Pointing Chariots systematically. South Pointing Chariots can be classified into fixed-axis wheel system and differential gearing system. This work decomposes South Pointing Chariots into four sub-parts, including the inputs, the transmission device, the passive feedback mechanism, and the output. And, this work analyzes the topological structures of existing designs to conclude the structural characteristics, design specifications, and design requirements and constraints.
This work introduces a new representation of joints and members and proposes a systematic procedure for the reconstruction design of South Pointing Chariots. The methodology starts with design specifications to obtain the atlas of feasible generalized chains based on the technique of number synthesis. Then, the atlas of feasible specialized chains is obtained according to the procedure of specialization subject to concluded design requirements and constraints. The methodology follows assigning by the axial direction of revolute joints and characteristics of members to generate the atlas of feasible specialized chains with particular identities. Finally, the atlas of feasible designs is obtained by particularization. As a result, 10 reconstruction designs of South Pointing Chariots with fixed axis wheel system and 16 deigns with differential gearing system are generated. These configurations provide valuable references in the study of ancient South Pointing Chariots, especially in reconstruction research. Furthermore, the 3D solid modeling with SolidWorks and prototypes for verifying the design results are developed and implemented.
