本研究探討當代藝術空間型態，從藝術背景談論到如何藉由藝術空間型態回應城市網路、通透、串聯? 藝術場域可以為典型大型博物館到私人畫廊、非營利場合、藝術學校、出版商、各藝術家的工作場合、策展人、收集家和慈善家等等。菁英藝術輾轉到庶民藝術，在台南美術館的菁英藝術要怎麼回應開放性的庶民藝術空間?

本研究分為兩階段，以台南美術二館為基礎，時間軸從營運前到營運一年後的空間變化，另一方面以未完形理論(incomplete from/active form)、開放城市(open city/slash city)、多孔隙城市(porous city)作為論點，相較於台南市都市組織，地標性建築的建立，是否影響者開放性都市的密度，針對開放城市(open city/slash city) 、不因地標物而群聚，不獨厚單一使用者。藝術本身就是無界閾的存在，如何呼應城市佈景，根據Nan Ellin在”Integral Urbanism”提出整體的城市具有混雜性、連通性、多孔隙、真實性、脆弱性，這是面對基地所面臨的首要關鍵。

台南，人文底蘊深厚，社會文化豐富，在空間使用高度重複性下，從移動的限制研究結果圈劃基地，在此研究不特定身體能力限制(capacity constraint)，例如:老人小孩、運具能力、金錢能力，及一個人無法同時身在兩處(coupling constraint)及禁止進入、限制進入(authority constraint)。因此結果分為下列三種部分，城市漫遊者(flaneur)、居住者(city dwellers)、通勤者(commuters)在網路中彼此約制者，不同於荒地的無屬性，城市空白地帶有附加經濟價值，在基礎社會文化下是本身已有功能存在，都市空白地可以是停車空間、公園、運動場、廣場等等，回應pop-up urbanism 的短暫時間性跟空間可塑性。在城市策略上以pop-up urbanism 是解決部分藝術串聯，而面對美術館透過都市計畫選址，位在舊城中心，腹地狹隘，周遭空間規畫不足，這為此研究設計主要解決方向，替代的都市文化藝術空間可以是一套系統，亦可以是新的空間整合。

What are the real challenges of the contemporary art? What are its links with the socialty ,histry, culture? The research is to reidentify the art spaces in Tainan, major in archived the daily life from city dwellers, travelers, students. The five principles, "Hybridty, Connectivty, Porosity, Authenticity, Vulnerability" will be a critic part of facing the comtemporary art museum.

The research explores the definition of contemporary art space, from the artistic background to how to respond to the urban through the art space type. The field of art research can range from typical large museums to private galleries, non-profit occasions, art schools, publishers, workplaces of various artists, curators, collectors and philanthropists, etc. Based on the theory of incomplete/effective form, open city/slash city, porous city, compared to Tainan City's urban texture, whether the establishment of landmark buildings affects the density of open cities. Art itself is the existence of unbounded thresholds. The design is purposing to connect the elite art museum and social infra-thinness art space within a system, analyzing the location and establishing rules, extending the design to achieve improvement alternative art architecture.
