We report a study of single crystalline scandium monoantimonide ScSb by means of the electrical resistivity, Seebeck coefficient, thermal conductivity, specific heat, magnetic susceptibility as well as 45Sc and 121Sb NMR measurements. The analysis of low-temperature specific heat yields a small Fermi-level density of state (DOS) N(EF) = 0.16 states/eV. By analyzing the 45Sc NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate, we have deduced the partial Sc 3d Fermi-level DOS of about 0.04 states/eV, Sb 5s Fermi-level DOS of about 0.004 states/eV, Sb 5p Fermi-level DOS of about 0.12 states/eV. We can estimate gives the ratio of Np(EF)/Ns(EF)~30, a realistic value for typical Sb-based metals. With these results, we thus provided convincing evidence for the semi-metallic characteristic in ScSb.
