投擲為複雜的動力鏈傳遞之運動,需協調從抬腿蓄力、前導腳落地、下肢推蹬地面、軀體扭轉、到投球出手的一連串動作。因過去研究指出較大的髖部活動範圍可以減低投球時上肢的負荷,故本研究透過加強投手髖關節活動度介入訓練提升投手在賽場上投球表現,提高下肢運用的能力以減少手臂之負擔。方法 : 招募24名男性棒球投手作為受試者,採取隨機分組成介入組及控制組,其中控制組(n=11,年齡:21.27±2.15)維持常規棒球訓練、介入組(n=13,年齡:20.42±1.56)除常規棒球訓練,額外增加每週4次的6週瑜加介入訓練,以獨立樣本T檢定、成對樣本T檢定分析介入前後兩組髖關節活動度、部分肌肉對應肢段的加速度、球速。結果 : 連續六週且每週不小於四次的的瑜珈訓練能顯著增進髖關節活動度(P<.05),髖關節屈區(∆:4.82°±3.12°)、髖關節伸展(∆:13.9°±8.62°)、髖關節外展(∆:7.96°±6.6°)、髖關節內收(∆:26.67°±18.35°)、髖關節內旋(∆:12.44°±9.62°)、髖關節外旋(∆:9.34°±7.62°),雖然瑜伽訓練對增進投球表現在統計上未達顯著(p=.0598),但與達到顯著差異的些微差距顯示瑜珈有增進投球表現之可能性。結論 : 瑜珈能顯著增進髖關節活動度,但活動度較高之受試者並不一定能投出速度更快的球;活動度與球速並無顯著關聯,而活動度增加與球速增加之統計力相當接近顯著水準,似有接續研究的空間。
Baseball pitching is a complex movement, requiring effective energy transfer from the lower to the upper extremities. It has been shown that enhanced hip joint range of motion would reduce the loading on the pitching arm. In this present study, it was hypothesized that pitching performance could be improved by increasing the pitcher's hip joint mobility through yoga training intervention, and the ability to use the lower limbs could be improved to reduce the burden on the arms. Methods: Twenty six male baseball pitchers were recruited and randomly divided into intervention group and control group. During the experiment, 2 participants were unable to complete the post-test due to personal factors. Thus, their data were excluded and only the data of 24 participants were analyzed. The control group (n=11) maintained regular baseball training, while the intervention group (n=13) received 6 weeks of yoga training (4 times a week) in addition to regular baseball training. The independent sample T test and paired sample T test were used to analyze the range of motion of the hip joints, the acceleration of the corresponding limb segments of major muscles, and the ball speed before and after intervention in the two groups. Results: Yoga training could significantly improve the range of motion of the hip joint. While this training was expected to enhance pitching performance (by enhance ball release speed), the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Yoga can significantly increase the range of motion of the hip joint, but participants with higher range of motion may not be able to throw a faster ball. Although there was no significant correlation between hip range of motion and ball speed, further research is suggested due to the statistical power which was close to the level of statistical significance.
