瀝青混凝土是以瀝青為黏結料與粗骨材、細骨材及填充料依一定比例均勻拌合以滿足特定工程性質之混合物,其中骨材佔全部重量的90%以上,由此可以看出骨材對於瀝青混凝土的影響甚鉅。
本研究係探討骨材級配的不同對於瀝青混凝土工程性質的差異。試驗計畫中選取符合ASTM D3515最大標稱粒徑19㎜規範的三種不同級配和常用的IVc密級配做比較研究,期盼從骨材級配曲線對瀝青混凝土工程性質的改變中找出相關性,並利用冪次方程式(power law)尋找其中的關連性。
為了讓分析更為完整,本次研究除了試驗計畫中可以得到的試驗數據外,另行利用郭銘峰、Mohammad的試驗數據分析,最後彙整資料做出綜合比較。
研究結果顯示乾粒料孔隙率、穩定值、間接張力和骨材級配有相當的關係,骨材級配曲線可以利用冪次方程式分別對粗細骨材的截距項(aCA、aFA)、斜率項(nCA、 nFA )建立級配曲線特性常數。綜觀骨材級配曲線與乾粒料孔隙率間的關係,粗骨材組成比例的影響大於細骨材。本研究以瀝青薄膜厚度和冪次方程式的aFA項評估間接張力強度獲得不錯的成果,當aFA在20至35之間時,aFA增加間接張力同時增加,瀝青薄膜厚度增加導致間接張力下降。
The mixture of asphalt concrete is composed of asphalt cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and fillers. It is more than 90% composed of aggregate. Therefore aggregate plays an important role in the asphalt concrete.
In this study, four HMA mixtures were evaluated to investigate the effect of aggregate gradation on engineering properties of asphalt concrete. Three gradations were chosen in accordance with ASTM D3515 for 19 ㎜nominal maximum size, whereas other was in accordance with IVc gradation. The relationships between engineering properties of asphalt concrete and aggregate gradation curves were established by power law . Kuo’s and Mohammad’s data were also used and analysed along with the test data.
Based on the test results, void of dry aggregate ( VDA ), stability and indirect tensile strengh were related remarkably to aggregate gradation. The parameters of power law constants ( aCA , aFA ) and exponents ( nCA , nFA ) for the coarse and fine aggregate portions represented by aggregate gradation characterization factors were analysed in non-linear regression. The data showed that there was obvious more effect on VDA for coarse aggregate than fine aggregate. It also showed that Indirect tensile strengh was related to asphalt film thickness and aFA. When aFA was between 20 to 35, indirect tensile strengh increaseed as aFA increased and decreased as asphalt film thickness increased.
