本論文的主旨是以旅館為對象，呈現對極簡主義的思考與運用。
在設計操作上，首先從生活的角度切入，探討旅館空間的本質與極簡主義之間的關係。其次分析極簡主義的涵義與形式構成，作為空間操作的基礎。最後帶入基地的真實條件限制，分別對旅館的空間形式以及生活型態，以極簡為概念做出詮釋。

本論文分為以下五個部分：

一、旅館概論
二、設計概念—極簡
三、極簡空間元素
四、基地分析
五、設計發展與呈現

本論文的目的為透過旅館空間的演練，反應極簡與環境、建築、生活三者之間的關係。

The aim of this thesis is to present the thinking and applicability of the Minimalism via the planning of a hotel.

In design process, firstly, we start from the ways of life to research the relationship between the essence of hotel space and of Minimalism. Secondly, our research analyzes the meaning and formation of Minimalism as the foundation of space-formation. Finally, the condition and limits of the site go into our consideration from which we may present the space form and life style of a hotel by minimalist’s concept.

There are five sections in this thesis:
1. Conspectus on hotel
2. Design concept - Minimalism
3. Minimalist space elements
4. Site analysis
5. Design development and presentation

The purpose of this thesis is to reflect the interplay between Minimalism and environment, architecture, and life.
