  • In the construction industry, many projects fail to meet the objectives of budgeted cost, schedule, scope and desired quality. This failure is disastrous to all the parties involved. To avoid such catastrophes, decision analysis and risk management techniques should be applied systematically during the entire process. Therefore, risk management is fundamental to the success of any construction project. The aim of this study is to evaluate the importance of the common risks identified in the industry, investigate the degree of usage of the techniques and their effectiveness in the construction industry. Through past studies carried out in the industry for the benchmarking construction markets, these are investigated by the score or impact level assigned to risks or techniques. The main motivation of this study is find out the most suitable way of managing construction risks.
