本文主要研究莎樂美 (Salomé) 在歷史脈絡下的形象扭轉，現今對於莎樂美的認識，主要來自於十九世紀奧斯卡．王爾德 (Oscar Wilde) 的劇本《莎樂美》(Salomé) 所塑造出的樣貌，並以劇本中，莎樂美所跳的舞蹈〈七紗舞〉(Dance of the Seven Veils)，最為引起世人爭議。莎樂美原為聖經中一位無名公主，藉由後人的想像添加，轉變為現今在舞台上載歌載舞、活色生香的妖嬈女子。莎樂美的形象積累，橫跨兩千年，透過宗教、繪畫、文學與戲劇的想像後，最終在王爾德的手上，形成我們認知的莎樂美，爾後又引發了理查．史特勞斯 (Richard Strauss) 創作的的靈感，寫出了莎樂美的歌劇版本，以及美國知名舞者莫德．艾倫 (Maud Allan) 的追隨，並在王爾德劇本中的〈七紗舞〉基礎上，發展了舞者自身的版本《莎樂美幻影》(The Vision of Salomé)。本文首要將溯源莎樂美在史料中的身份、以及王爾德的創作歷程、史特勞斯的歌劇莎樂美以及莎樂美在美國所引起的風潮，並從史料記載、神學家的觀點、王爾德的創作立場以及表演者的觀點，在社會歷史的脈絡下，做莎樂美形象變化的探討。

The paper mainly discusses the transformation of Salome in the historical context and takes Oscar Wilde’s play Salomé as a material to discuss how Dance of Seven Veils affects Salome’ s image. This study adopts methods of historical method, content analysis, and sociology of art to analyze the process in any aspects. The first chapter sorts Salome’s image from art history. Through unfolding the creative process of two significant authors, Oscar Wilde and Richard Strauss, the second chapter shows how their work stirs up issues that astonish the public. The third chapter presents how Salome’s characters and dance attract performers in the turn of the century when the society voice for feminism. Besides, the famous dancer Maud Allan adapts Dance of Seven Veils to her own version Vision of Salome which causes an agitation. In sum, through interpretations by religions and art, she was reformed into the Salome we know nowadays: from an innocent girl to a luscious femme fatale. The cause of her distorted image is because she shoulders the responsibilities of killing John the Baptist and a collective lust by generations. As a result, readers could use a broader mind to know this Jewish Princess better.
