本研究致力於研發一個可以讓銀髮族更容易且方便操作的智慧型手機人機介面。專以銀髮族為中心,在Android平台實作一個功能簡化、字體大、按鈕大且便於操作的簡易啟動介面,提供銀髮族較常用到的電話、簡訊功能,加上提醒日常生活瑣事的簡易行事曆瀏覽、便於與親友分享及具懷舊治療效果的照片瀏覽功能,和銀髮族手機必備的緊急求救功能。本研究也提出了三個創新之處:(1)單一頁面:模擬單一頁面,跳脫常見的多層及多頁面的介面設計,讓銀髮族最多只需點按螢幕兩次即可完成欲執行的功能、(2)手抖校正:在手抖時使用觸控螢幕時易產生多餘的誤觸,透過觸摸螢幕的時間來做校正,降低操作失誤的機率、(3)點選式回覆簡訊:考量到大多數銀髮族不會使用手機編輯文字,無法回覆簡訊給親友,親友也無法確定對方是否已讀取,於是提出一種透過點選預設的簡易字詞,來迅速回覆簡訊的功能。
我們先引用啟發式評估方法評估介面,隨後又做了兩次問卷調查,第一次有20位銀髮族參與,實驗結果發現雖然他們皆對此介面感到滿意,但對於撥號鍵盤的手抖校正效果沒有感到非常顯著的差異,因此我們修改後又再進行了一次實驗。第二次,我們針對36位銀髮族來做大型撥號鍵盤及手抖校正的實驗,經分析得到顯著的差異。
This study focuses on developing a convenient and efficient user interface for the elderly with Android smartphones. We find the basic requirements are phone, message, calendar with reminders and photos, which may be with reminiscence therapy, and help function. We then design and implement a new application launcher which completes the requirements and has three new features: (1) Single View: the launcher is simplified to a single page without common multi-layer and multi-page interface design, and make the elderly just tap the screen at most twice to complete the function which they want. (2) Tremor Correction: an elderly is prone to inadvertently touch the screen when the tremor occurs. Tremor Correction reduces the chances of operational errors. (3) Quick Reply: most of the elderly do not reply short messages because it is hard for them to edit the reply message. We propose and implement a method to reply a short message quickly by clicking the simple built-in words.
We apply the heuristic evaluation to evaluate the interface, and then do two questionnaires and experiments. The first 20 elderly participated in the experiment, and we found that although they were satisfied with this interface but the effect of dial pad with tremor correction was not significant. Therefore, we modified the interface and do another experiment again. We had the 36 elderly to use the larger dial pad with tremor correction, and we finally get a significant difference in the analysis.
