木工機械在我國機械產業中,是僅次於工具機、紡織機械、塑膠機械等之重要代表性產品之一。依據海關出口統計資料,2002年台灣機械出口值達到94億6仟9佰餘萬美元,其中,木工機械類排名第四位,出口值為6億5仟3佰餘萬美元。
本研究以木工機產業之創業者為研究對象,利用質性研究方法針對木工機械業的創業歷程進行研究。研究對象共有五位創業者,藉由深度訪談的方式收集資料。
研究架構共可分為四個構面,分別是產業前投入、機會、創業策略與創業類型和績效。本研究的研究目的在於分析創業者擁有的知識能力、經驗、人脈、及家庭關係對創業過程的影響為何?其與創業策略、創業類型間的關係又是如何?以及最後,創業策略、創業類型與績效的關係又是如何?
研究結果發現,在各項資源對創業過程的影響方面,創業者表示知識、能力對創業工作有所影響,但是持續學習才是創業成功的關鍵;家庭對創業者的幫助可以分為精神方面與財務方面;創業者對人際網路提供的幫助,看法不一致。在各項資源與創業策略與類型間的關係方面,研究結果發現,人際網路和創業策略間有關係存在,而家庭關係和創業類型間也有關係存在。
