This study investigates whether firms with high information capacity have the tendency to improve strategic alliance performance. We use IW500 ranking provided by InformationWeek to identify firms with great IT capacity and collect strategic alliance announcement made by those firms within 10 years, from 2007 to 2016. There is no significant result in cumulated abnormal return, but we found technological alliance type a significant and positive result which provide a clearer dimension for the related research in the future.
