Due to the awareness of environmental protection issue is gradually important to industries and consumers, Policy-makers are also developing environmental policies to decrease carbon emissions from industries. Thus, more manufacturers begin to remanufacture the end-of-life products, and sell new and remanufactured products in the market simultaneously, must manage and evaluate economic and emission cost generated by the production under the carbon emission regulations. In this study, we develop a two-period planning horizon model to derive a favorable condition in the reduction level of emission for remanufactured products are beneficial for the manufacturer in the ordinary markets and green markets, and obtain the optimal price under three strategies of the carbon emission, such as: the carbon tax, the carbon cap and trade, and the carbon penalty, to maximize the manufacturer’s profits. This study also adopts a numerical example to investigate the relevant parameters, such as the carbon tax price, the carbon trading price, the carbon penalty price, in different conditions to understand the feasibility of the reduction level of carbon emission for remanufactured products.
