本論文在研究舞蹈與建築設計的關係。舞蹈除了是藝術之外，也是一門探究身體本質的學問;而建築設計則是一門關於回應生活現象的藝術。因雲門舞集排練場地於二零零八焚毀，本設計論文嚐試為其規劃一座新的排練基地，結合教育、表演、生活的園區。林懷民透過行草將漢字轉化成舞，呈現在舞臺上，獲得廣大強大迴響。因字形同舞姿，而字由紙張呈現，本設計因此透過紙張的扭曲、折、捲，尋找與舞者身體與空間共振的頻率，找到彼此相互共鳴的空間。

現代舞以打破過去規則為要旨。作者希冀打破方和圓給一般人的刻板印象，並和舞者身體所構成的韻律軌跡作結合，並由此尋找靈感，創造出新的空間，成為雲門的基地。

本論文主軸可分為六個部份:
1. 舞:尋找舞空間的本質
2. 地:尋找場域的特殊條件
3. 涵:尋找舞空間的議題
4. 場:尋找慾望的純粹型
5. 破:法和非法之間，打破舊有的框架
6. 成:尋找新的舞空間

This thesis focuses on exploring the relation between dancing and architectural design practice. Dancing is not only an art but a sort pursuit for the nature of human body, and architectural design is to reflect phenomena of human life. Since Cloud Gate Dance Theatre was burn down in 2008, my thesis design tries to raise a proposal for new dancing center, combining education, performing, and life, for Cloud Gate. That Lin Hwai-Min presenting the strength of Chinese characters in his dancing gains big success. Cursive writing as the dancer showed on paper, therefore I am trying to utilize paper as a media through whose twisting, folding, and rolling to find the interplay among dancers and their dancing space to form this performing space.

Modern dancing always breaks the rules. This author here tries to across the
limit of square and circle shapes to obtain an inspiration of this design’s form-
shaping.
This paper has 6 sections as follow:
1. Dancing- to find the nature of dancing space.
2. Location- to find special conditions for place.
3. Program- to find desire issues.
4. Stage- to find pure form for desire.
5. Breaking- to obtain the equilibrium between order and non-order.
6. Collage- to find a new dancing space.
