  •   2003年12月10日,在台東成功地區發生了Mw=6.5的地震,而誘發此次地震的斷層為池上斷層。而在2003年11月中旬,國立台灣大學地質科學系在台東地區設置了五座GPS連續追蹤站,由東至西分別位於都歷遊客服務中心(DULI)、泰源技能訓練所(TAYU)、永豐國小(YUFN)、富南國小(FUNA)以及學田國小(SHTA)。同時國立成功大學地球科學系也在這五個點位上設置了地震儀。我們得以用GPS連續觀測方式來進行監測,並配合地震資料,觀察該地區震前、同震與震後地殼的變形行為。
      本研究希望藉由分析GPS以及地殼地震非均向性資料,得到該地區在成功地震前後時間、空間上的變化以及其相關性。在GPS方面,我們由時間序列發現成功地震後該地區上盤往東北方移動,下盤往東南方移動。而在地震後一個月,上盤漸漸改變往西北方移動,下盤則仍朝東南移動。在地震資料方面,在地震發生前,地殼非均向性在較靠近斷層的TAYU站地殼非均向性受到池上斷層的影響,方向與斷層走向一致。而DULI、CHK兩站,受到斷層影響較小。而地震發生之後在TAYU站地殼非均向性方向順時針旋轉約15度,而CHK站與震前方向一致。在DULI站於地震後一個月內地殼非均向性則是由南北向順時針轉為近東西向,在地震一個月之後則恢復到東西向,顯示該地區在地震前後地殼非均向性受大地應力以及斷層兩者間交互影響。而成功地震由中央研究院寬頻地震網(BATS)所得之震源機制解,為東北西南走向單純的逆斷層。地表在震後變形的反應卻與震源機制反應不同,應是受到地底斷層傾角所影響,使得地表在地震後變形行為與單純的逆斷層運動行為有所不同。
