  • The purpose of this research is to investigate strategic making of petrochemical companies facing with the pollution charge in Dafa Industrial Park. The petrochemical plants in the Dafa Industrial Park are located in Chalio, Kaohsiung Count where gas leaking cases happened four times during the month of December, 2008. This research was focused on the exploration of corporate social res份ponsibility with related environment protection acts by the strategy formation, planning, and implementation that pollution case. In-depth interview was used in this research. It was found that the petrochemical companies in Dafa Industrial Park didn’t act aggressively when facing with the air pollution case. Most companies of suspect pollution petrochemical didn’t install necessary air pollution monitors in the Park. Besides, only several companies noticed the importance of building relationships with local community citizens. Bureaucrats that caused the Industry Development Bureau Ministry of Economic Affairs didn’t work on the second phase environmental impact assessment according to the Environmental Law. There are still improvements although many things have been done after the event was publicized in this case. We suggested that the whole industrial district should enhance the consciousness of ethics and ways of emergency events disposed.
