近年來在政府的大力推動宣導下，人行空間逐漸受到重視，既有道路之改善工程也紛紛進行規劃、設計及施作。但經觀察新建及改善的人行空間仍有許多問題產生，其中包括人行空間的缺乏及不適當、公共運輸設施的不便、運具停車空間的缺乏、用路人安全受到威脅、街道景觀品質不良等問題。
本研究係以台南市人行道空間作為觀察研究對象，藉由使用者之觀點檢討分析現有人行空間需求與現況使用之空間謬誤，並進行空間指正，歸納整理空間中所出現的不合於規範的設計操作(錯誤操作問題)、規劃設計操作上的不適當(操作不當問題)，與現況使用不符合期望(空間不適問題)等問題，進而針對人行道各空間元素提出改善之建議。
由研究結果得知依據道路寬度及土地使用分區管制所設置的人行道寬度並不合乎現況使用需求；人性化空間尺度未納入規劃考量；現有人行道空間元素缺乏整合性規劃等。改善的建議主要針對無障礙坡道、公車停靠區、公車停等區、機車停車空間、路口轉角空間與騎樓空間，提出一些想法與建議，希望藉由人行道空間元素的調整及整合，讓人行道空間更友善，以提高行人使用之意願與安全。

In recent years, people start to focus on pedestrian space because of the promotion of government, and many works of reconstruction of streets, roads all start to work. However, there are still many problems of those spaces which are already reconstructed, scanting of the space, inadequate for space, inconvenience of public transportation, the lacking of parking space, also safety of passenger and bad quantity of Streetscape.
We take the pedestrian space in Tainan as the main target of the research, try to analysis the necessary of pathway and misunderstanding of using the space nowadays through the view of the users, therefore, to provide suggestions for reconstructing the elements of pedestrian space, to correct the space, to organize unsuitable design , the form of design and the disconfirmation between using and expecting.
Through the research, the results point out that there are still lots of problems , such like the width of pathway which is designed with Decision Making of Zoning is not suitable for people to use nowadays, didn’t consider about human scale constraints in planning, and the elements which are existed in the space are not organized…
The suggestion of reconstruction focus on free access for the disabled, the zone for bus stop, the area for people to wait the public transportation, parking space for motorcycle, the corner and space of arcade. We hope to make the pedestrian space more suitable for people to use through adjusting and organization of the elements of the space, to go a step further, we expect to increase the aspiration of using the space and safety of the space.
