為探求自然節理面之力學行為,本文依物理模型實驗找到一種類似岩石性質之人工材料,以此材料製作人工節理面試體進行直接剪力試驗的結果,並配合本文嘗試之尖峰剪力強度運算方法,以便求出較具完整性、代表性的尖峰剪力強度曲線,希冀爾後在缺乏具相同幾何表面之自然節理面試體時,亦能簡易分析出較準確之尖峰剪力強度。
物理模型實驗方面,本文所採用的人工岩石材料之基本力學試驗結果,均符合模擬岩石材料之要求,並依Hoek-Brown(1980)準則求出其材料參數,再與自然岩石的基本力學特性比較,顯示本文所採用的人工岩石材料之力學行為類似軟岩之岩性。
本文嘗試以「垂直滑輪組」改良傳統式剪力盒所造成不均勻之剪脹現象的缺點,目的是為了使試驗時所產生之膨脹量,更趨於合理,由簡單的檢核測試可知,隨著剪位移的增加,垂直滑輪組對上試體膨脹量的一致性有不錯的效果。
在節理面之剪力強度方面,本文嘗試將直接剪力試驗之正向應力與剪應力數據經莫耳-庫倫強度準則(Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion)轉換成莫耳圓(Mohr circle),再以莫耳圓之最大與最小主軸應力配合Hoek-Brown(1980)經驗準則進行分析,以求得莫耳圓之包絡線,此包絡線即本文所稱之尖峰剪力強度曲線。
