臺南府城的發展歷史悠久，歷經荷據、鄭氏、清領等階段，都市空間的傳統紋理至清末大致成形。日本殖民臺灣後，將西方的都市計畫植入臺南傳統的城鎮空間內，二戰之後，國民政府持續延用日人的規劃模式，至1979年後才重新檢討，在新舊紋理的相互影響下，形成了今日臺南市的都市空間型態。本研究範圍的傳統紋理異於府城的其他地區，更影響了日治時期計畫道路的規劃。為了探究道署南側市區傳統街道脈絡遭受破壞的情形，以及都市計畫之變遷、開發之始末，釐清街區空間開發停滯的問題。主要探討內容如下：

一、臺南府城的空間架構
先探討臺南府城的輪廓邊界，進而界定府城空間的範圍。並藉由傳統的建築單元、土地利用方式、市區的街道發展，建構臺南府城的空間架構，最後聚焦道署南側市區的空間發展，探究其於府城空間的區位與街廓體系。
二、臺南市的近代都市計畫
臺南的日治時期的都市計畫分為萌芽期、展開期、確立期，在殖民政府各階段的都市計劃下，改變了城市原有的道路系統與街廓形式，在新舊紋理的相互影響下，確立了今日道署南側市區的都市發展。
三、計畫街道破壞區內地籍系統
在日治與二戰後各期都市計畫的道路的開闢後，產生新的交通模式，但仍有計畫道路尚未開闢，未來開闢後切割街廓內部的舊紋理，必產生面積狹小與地界曲折的畸零地，直接衝擊了街廓內部的土地開發。
四、市區建築開發遲緩停滯
透過對現況建築物類型的調查，並對照畸零地的分佈情形，釐清造成研究範圍內外差異以及開發遲緩的主要原因。

The contemporary development of Tainan city has immensely been influenced by varied urban planning systems conducted by different rolling authorities in history. In the later period of Qing dynasty, the spatial patterns of Tainan had been basically formed. During the Japanese colonial period, implant the Western urban planning into Tainan traditional urban space. After World War II, the KMT government in Taiwan continuous extension of the Japanese planning mode. Interaction under the influence of old and new texture, the formation of spatial patterns of Tainan. The scope of this study is different from the traditional city with other parts of the texture, but also affected Japanese colonial period of road project planning. Consequently, this thesis tries to analyze the deteriorated situation in the district at the southern side of Dao-Shu, elaborate the transformation of urban planning, and to address the factors stopping it from further development.

1.Space structure of the traditional Tainan City
First, explore the boundaries of Tainan, then, First, explore the boundaries of Tainan, and then define the spatial extent of Tainan. And by traditional architectural elements, land use, urban street development, spatial structure constructed Tainan . Finally focus spatial development on the district at the southern side of Dao-Shu and explore its location and street blocks Tainan system.

2.Modern urban planning in Tainan
During the Japanese colonial period, the Tainan had undergone transitions from ‘Bud’, ‘Expansion’ and ‘Certain’ stages. In the Japanese colonial government under various stages of urban planning, changed the existing road system and the street contour forms, in the old and new textures mutual influence, established the district at the southern side of Dao-Shu of Urban Development.

3.Cadastral system of residential district were destroyed by urban planning
After the road opened in the planning during Japanese colonial rule and World War II, and then generating new traffic patterns. There are plans to open up the road yet, after the road to open up cutting the old street blocks internal texture will produce small size and tortuous boundary deformed parcel, the direct impact of land development order within street blocks.

4.The stagnation of estate development
Through comparing the existing land use condition with the layout of fractional lots , the main factors causing the stagnation of estate development are clarified.
