火車運輸提供了一種城市與城鎮間方便的交通方式,但路面鐵軌方式常一刀劃開原本相連的兩地,在城市中的路面鐵軌更常是切斷了都市的既有紋理;二次戰後,小汽車導向為主的公路、幹道及各式道路成為主宰目前都市的地景,其以速度為取向的道路設計也割裂了城市空間形成許多不連續的「城市碎片」。本研究配合台南市目前正在進行「臺南市都市縫合計畫─鐵路地下化沿線都市規劃與設計案」中建議增設之「體育公園站」周遭做為研究基地,目的在縫合基地被碎化的城市空間。
本研究首先探討「非均質城市」,研究非均質城市斷裂形成的原因,並試圖找回一穩定的「類均質城市」狀態,而進一步研究都市縫合的方法。研究中主要討論步行系統的斷裂以及生態系統的斷裂,並以複雜系統的觀點介入,認為縫合有三步驟,首先將都市分解為各層次系統,接著予以碎形化,最後進行重組。論文最後進行基地的分析與設計的操作,將抽取出分析的對象視為複雜系統的各層次系統,局部地建構其碎形的特質,並在重組時注意各層次間連動的關係,最後提出結論。
Trains provide a convenient way of transportation between cities and countries, but the railways often cut off the connected sides of a place, and destroy the urban fabric in the city; after the WWII, the urban landscape has been dominated by car-oriented highways, major arterials, and other types of roads. The speed-oriented road design has splintered the urban space into many unconnected “urban fragments.” This thesis takes “Stadium Park” as the research site, which will be a new station suggested by the developing project “The Urban Sewing Plan of Tainan City─Urban Planning and Design along the Underground Railway,” and the purpose is to sew the urban fragments.
The thesis first discusses “inhomogeneous city,” trying to figure out the reason why urban fragments are formed, attempting to seek for a balanced condition of “quasi-homogeneous city,” and thus researches into ways of urban sewing. In the thesis, the main concerns are the splintering of walking system and ecosystem, and with the viewpoint of complex system, the thesis proposes three steps of urban sewing: decompose first, fractalize second, and recompose at last. Finally, a series of analysis and design process are implemented on the site with the three steps of sewing and the conclusion is reached in the end.
