本研究主要在探討已婚中年女性在從事志願服務的動機及持續性因素。為瞭解中年女性志工經驗，本研究以立意取樣選取年齡介於45至64歲之已婚中年女性為研究對象，並使用半結構性大綱進行深度訪談，以收集相關研究資料，並將訪談資料轉譯成逐字稿，進行資料之整理、編碼與分析。
獲致如下四項研究結果：
一、 已婚中年女性參與志願服務，是從生活接觸開始。因受家庭及工作之限制，所以投入志願服務的步調自會具有其階段性。
二、 家人支持使已婚中年女性更積極參與志願服務，但女性會符合傳統觀念，重視家務處理。
三、 已婚中年女性會在志願服務的過程中，改變原先認知，學習新技能，情感上亦有所獲，且咸認學習成果有助於志願服務的延續。
四、 已婚中年女性亟欲參與多樣化服務，但仍專注於某項主要志願服務。大部分願意嘗試新事物，例如想要調整自己的腳步，參與較少或未接觸的領域。

This research is aimed to investigate the motivations and continuing factors of married, middle-age woman involving voluntary services. To understand the voluntary experiences of middle-aged women, this study used qualitative research and semi-structured interview guide, matched with an in-depth interview to collect the relevant research data. The results of this study showed middle-aged married women with the process of involving in, the responses with the significant others, the changes of cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain, and their future prospects. To conclude, middle-aged women are still limited by the traditional frames. And they are significantly affected by the significant others’ attitudes and the learning of voluntary services’ processes. They think the familiar fields are important, but also they are willing to try the new issues.
